Wade Macklem’s Death and Obituary, Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Wade Hurst Macklem died on the 13th of October 2022 at the age of 53. Wade Macklem was born in Washington, DC, on August 24, 1969, in the home of his parents, Allan and Janet. On October the 12th, 1969, he was baptized on October 10th, in the Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska. He was confirmed at the church on May 22nd, 1983. In the early years of Wade’s life, his Macklem family lived in a variety of locations. The year 1987 was the year that Wade graduated from high school at Elkhorn. He attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska, and the University of Nebraska. Wade was a member of Sigma Nu Sigma Nu Fraternity when he was in Lincoln and has strong connections with several brothers. Wade received an MBA degree in 1991 from UNL in the year 1991. He then went on to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. University of Nebraska at Omaha to complete his MBA.

Wade and Carol began dating while they were at graduate school. They were friends for five years before they were married on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in 1998. Their wedding took place on the 17th of September 1999, at the Pacific Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. They resided for a time in Denver, Colorado. Their son, Gabe Allan Hurst, was born on the 2nd of January 2002. Great memories were created watching Gabe grow to be a young man. Wade’s professional career included finance. He was director of finance at Evolving Systems and Partner One. He was a devoted golfer, and this led to many trips to the golf course. His passion for sailing began when he learned about the sport from his father. Following that, there were numerous sailing trips to the British Virgin Islands with family friends and family members.

Wade has been buried by his beloved wife of 23 years, Carol. Gabe is his closest companion and son. Allan and Janet Macklem are his parents. His sisters are Britney Coyle (Matt) and Monique Rasmussen (Mark), along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as relatives. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (Colorado Chapter AFSP | https://afsp.org/chapter/colorado) and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (Rocky Mountain Chapter | Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation) are two charities that can be supported in lieu of flowers.
