Jane was the head of Newent Community School for a period of time from the year 2006 until 2013, a period when I was a student there from Year 10 until leaving the sixth class, even though I didn’t attend Denmark Road. Jane always had a great reputation and was always able to meet the requirements of the students there regardless of what. The loss of her will surely be felt deeply.

In the words of Liv Millman remarked:

This is a real shame since she was such a kind and friendly person. Even if you weren’t a part of her class, she’d make you feel comfortable and assist you when it was needed. She will be greatly missing, and I’m offering my heartfelt condolences to her family and to all present and former students at DRHS.

As Lauren T said,

It’s difficult reading this. It is a pity that Mrs. Steele was the best and most inspiring instructor and encouraged students just like me who had no an aptitude for math. Mrs. Steele always made learning enjoyable and strived to bring out the best in everyone, which is why I never had to worry about class. It will be a lifetime memory of how kind and funny she was. The sweet observations she shared within my annual report are memories I will treasure for a long time. In this time of loss we are thinking of the husband and daughter of her and the extended family.

As Florrie Cole said,

Jane gave me an incredible quantity of compassion. Her warmth, support and sense of humour truly touched me. I am left with nothing but great memory of time with her in class. My sincere prayers and condolences are with Jane’s family.
