Cal Poly’s eighth overall champion, Warren Baker, passed away on the 7th of October, 2022, on a Friday. Baker was aged 84 years old at the time of his death. Warren J. Baker died as the second longest-serving leader in the history of Cal Poly. After this news was announced, Warren Baker’s admirers have been curious to learn about the cause of his death. How can we find out Warren Baker’s cause of death?

The death was announced on the 8th of October 2022 by his family members at the Cal Poly university. Cal Poly University released the following statement in response to his passing: “The Cal Poly community has lost a true champion of Learn by Doing and a leader who helped create the university that it is today—a campus in high demand among California’s and the nation’s best and brightest students and a producer of thousands of Day-One-ready graduates ready to tackle the world’s most pressing issues.” declared Cal Poly President Jeffrey D. Armstrong. Despite our tremendous sorrow over Warren Baker’s passing, we are incredibly grateful for the 31 years he spent leading Cal Poly.

Cal Poly University did not divulge the past president, Warren J. Baker’s, cause of death. It is speculated that Baker may have passed away naturally. When he reached 84 years old, his cause of death was natural.

Warren Baker is best known as the second-longest-serving president of Cal Poly. However, he was president in office for 31 years and chief executive of Cal Poly until he retired in the year 2010. During his presidency, he played various roles at various levels. He was a teacher, an engineer practitioner, a university administrator and a researcher.

Certain officials at Cal Poly said that the school grew as a respected university under Warren Baker’s direction. Cal Poly University is famous for its scientific, engineering technology, engineering, and built-environment programs, as well as liberal arts and also for its agricultural courses. However, in 2013, the second largest campus in the history of Cal Poly University was named as The Warren J. Baker Center for Science and Mathematics

In addition, he was acknowledged for his collaboration with San Luis Obispo County and the City of San Luis Obispo to construct the Performing Arts Center on campus. Baker’s family has asked that people donate to the foundation of the Performing Arts Center.
