FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH’s IVAN MOODY Is ‘Retiring From Heavy Metal’
Ivan Moody has made a shocking announcement to the fans. Moody is “retiring from heavy metal.” This will be his final year as the frontman of the FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH however, it’s not going to be immediately. The band will release another record with his band prior to stepping out.
He announced the news during the band’s performance in Denver on Friday night, October 14.
Moody was joined by two of his children on the stage to give his speech that declared: “I wanted to tell you this.” There’s no one else in the world who is aware of Denver, and this is where the conversation is likely to begin. What you do with it is entirely up to you. In the last fifteen years of my existence, I’ve traveled the globe. I’ve seen every country and every town in the world at least once. This is a fact.
And throughout that time, as most parents are aware… I’ve had a hard time spending time with my kids. Therefore, I decided to make them an agreement today, and I’m committing to the plan. After this year, I’m going to record another Five Finger Death Punch album, and after that, I’m going to quit hard rock. ” Moody then shakes each kid’s hand before joking that they will never get his mic stand.
He added, “But I wanted to start this story here and share it with all of you since the day I decided to become a performer at venues such as… The Bluebird Theater, the Ogden Theater, and the Red Rocks.” We’ll be playing Red Rocks. We’ll have to go back another time. If I can take part in Red Rocks one more time, I am owed all things Colorado, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and every knucklehead in the world. Thank you.”
