In the afternoon of Thursday, Orlando police were called to Evans High School after a social media threat about an active shooter at the school. In addition, a large group of police were present in the building. They later determined that the shooter was not active. A post on social media led law enforcement officials to determine whether shooting events occurred or not. According to reports, According to reports, the Orlando County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Evans High School located at 4949 Silver Star Road off N Pines Hills Road on Thursday afternoon. The officer took every precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students. But, it was later reported that there was no active shooter or any crime on campus that was detected.
After making sure everything was in order, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office tweeted, “There is NO ACTIVE SHOOTER at Evans High School.” A threat on social media was reported earlier this morning.
