The victim of a Wednesday morning car accident in Westmoreland County has been identified as Christopher Howe.

Christopher Howe– A deadly accident that occurred that took place in Westmoreland County overnight has been confirmed to be Christopher Howe of Blairsville, Pennsylvania. On the morning of Wednesday, early on Wednesday morning in Derry Township, a single-vehicle collision killed the 36-year old Chris Howe.

Howe was reported to have been driving a car along PA-217 close to Cherry Street in Blairsville when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the road around 3 a.m. The car then hit an iron railing, and then exploded in the air. The car fell into a tree and was caught in the fire.

Howe was thrown off the car following the crash, was diagnosed with blunt force trauma, and was declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
